Since it seemed like there might be interest while talking to different members, I figured it might be better to have an information session on what Chi Running is all about instead. I've got a certified Chi Running Instructor lined up and she's agreed to do the introduction as an RTR event!

The catch above is that we have to have at least 15 members signed up - so if you are interested please RSVP NOW. If there are not enough members signed up by noon Wednesday 4/7/2010, I will have to cancel the event and point you to other local seminars. If you ARE interested but can't make it on Friday, there is the possibility of having it on 4/14 in addition to, or in place of this event.

Anyways this is a good way to find out about Chi Running and see it worth it to you. If not, then there's nothing lost except an hour of your time. We'll plan to meet in the main parking lot in the Reedy Creek entrance. If we have some daylight left, we'll go for a quick trail run and/or get a bite to eat if anyone's interested :-)

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to email or call me at [masked]

Thanks and cya on trail,

Larry

--- From Brochure ---
What is Chi Running?

The Free Clinic gets you started! Certified ChiRunning Instructor, Pat Reichenbach, will demonstrate the ChiRunning technique, explain the benefits, answer questions and teach everyone the foundation skills for healthy running. Prepare to be outdoors, however there will not be a lot of running involved during the session.

Remember how you ran with ease as a child? Remember the joy you felt in running? That’s ChiRunning! ChiRunning teaches the natural, biomechanically correct running form that you instinctively used as a child.

ChiRunning teaches you how to move from your core, relax your peripheral muscles and co-operate with gravity instead of pushing, pounding and heel-striking your way down the road. Danny Dreyer, the founder of ChiRunning says “It’s not running that hurts you, it’s the way you run that hurts you.” Plantar faciitis, shin splints, runner’s knee, IT band issues, hamstrings pulls, Piriformis syndrome and lower back issues are all typical running injuries that can be reduced or eliminated by changing the way we run. The idea is to enjoy running for your entire life.

ChiRunning reduces injury, improves efficiency and is appropriate for everyone. For experienced runners, ChiRunning increases performance and reduces race times. Beginning runners are empowered with a sense of their strength and potential.

Well planned and taught by the instructor, very informative and the "hands on" section was great.

Bring friends, but please RSVP for them as a guest. I'm going to have to close this soon as it's getting pretty large. I'll schedule one for next week as well.

    •  Interesting info on technique, and nice job by the instructor.....will at least think about how to apply some of this on longer runs.
    •  I thought that was very useful information, & I thought the instructor did a great job imparting the information in a short period of time.
