For those with a flexible schedule and a dislike for running in the dark or morning cold, it's once again time to dust off the afternoon weekday run at Umstead. This will be a fairly regular run a couple days during the week for those who are able to break away from work (call it a late lunch!) for an hour. For this event, we'll run the Old Reedy Creek Road through Umstead Park. I will try to be there by around 3:50 and we will head out to the trail at 4:00. So if you are close and have a flexible work schedule or the afternoon off, come on out for an afternoon run at Umstead.
TODAY'S RUN WILL BE 10 MILES AT ~9:30mm pace.
We can go farther if anyone is interested, and schedule permits. This is an out and back route so if you are beginning or just don't feel up to the full mileage you can turn around at any time.
NOTE: Since we are in the inclement weather time, please make sure you check the calendar for any special cancellations due to rain, snow, ice, hail, extreme cold, extraterrestrial invasion, etc... On the rare occasion my schedule can get turned upside down and I may be unable to make the start time or perhaps even be able to run at all, so PLEASE be sure to check the posting an hour before start time. If in doubt you can always call my cell.
Where: Old Reedy Creek entrance in Cary - PARK ON THE NORTH (UMSTEAD) SIDE OF I-40 AND WE WILL MEET ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE BRIDGE WHERE THE PAVEMENT ENDS.
Organizer: John Williamson
Cell: [masked]
Start Time: 4:00 PM
