How about running a fun race and raising money for autism:cool

Each day two North Carolina families have a child diagnosed with a form of autism. That's nearly 800 families added each year to the 50,000 families in our state already living with autism.
Proceeds from the Triangle Run/Walk for Autism support the statewide programs and services of the Autism Society of North Carolina. Examples of those services include: the nation's oldest and largest summer camp for individuals with autism, parent advocacy and mentoring, awareness and education, and one-to-one training.
If you would like to donate to Diego Malaver's autism found reaiser team, please click on this link, or if you would like to form an autism fund raiser team just click here for more information.

This race is part of the Second Empire Grand Prix series 2009 and it raises funds for autism research.

Hi All, I created a Raleigh Trail Runners team before seeing Tracy's post this AM. So if you aren't already affiliated with a team please feel free to select RTR as your team if you'd like or certainly you could select the team Tracy listed below. In any case, all the funds raised will go to a great cause. Dan, did you want to pick a spot to try to meet up before or after the race?

The name of the team is Latinoamerican club. I noticed it did not come up when I registered my son. Katie and Jeff what are the names of your son and nephew? Others may want to run for them as well.

Hi All, Diego Malaver is a very good friend of my son. His brother has Autism. Diego has set a goal of raising 2,500 in the name of his brother which for a 16 year old I think is great. There is a link to join his team (I already have). My son and his friends will be running as well. Thank you for your support! See you there. Tracy

    •  well organized race; it was good to see people before the race--often it is too hard to meet up--had to leave right away so didn't get to see many folks after
